I'm Still Here...

For those of you who are used to me posting every night, I've been too busy listing to blog! I've been either listing new items, taking/editing pics, or ending/relisting old items. By the time I get done with that, it's a lot later than I'd like it to be, so blogging gets pushed to the back burner.

A good friend of mine is moving halfway across the country at the end of the month. She has asked me to come to her house tomorrow and take a bunch of stuff that she can't take with her, but that she's still too attached to to donate. She wants me to take whatever I think will sell. That could be an interesting project! I hope to have plenty to blog about after that trip.

I've been getting lots of new clothes and some odds 'n' ends listed this week. I've also been trying to end old listings that were getting ready to renew, and then use the "Sell Similar" link to relist them. It seems that doing that tricks eBay into thinking it's a new listing, which bumps my items up higher in search results. This has always worked well for me in the past, and this week has been no different. Three of today's sales were from items that I recently relisted as similar. It's just fresh exposure. It's tedious and time-consuming, and I don't really like doing it, but every time I make myself do it, I see good results.

Finally, a brief update about the email I got from the eBay legal department about my domain name. I got an auto-reply from eBay's spoof team, saying that "most likely" it wasn't sent to me by eBay. I replied back telling them that, in this case, "most likely" isn't good enough. I'm not going to take that as gold and then get sued for re-registering the domain name. So I called eBay the other day about it. She said I'd have to contact eBay's legal department through -gasp- snail mail. So I typed up a 1 1/2 page letter, explaining from the very beginning about these emails and what eBay customer service and the spoof team have said. I sent it out in the mail yesterday morning. I know this is silly, but I was so worried about what my mail lady would think when she saw I was mailing a letter to the eBay legal department. I almost felt like I had to defend myself to her, tell her that I did nothing wrong. Lol. In reality, she probably just grabbed the envelope and chucked it into her box without even giving it a second glance. I'm sure I won't hear back from the legal department for awhile, but I'll be sure to update you when I hear from them.

I'd like to post a teaching topic/tutorial or two next week. Any requests?

Off to bed.... Hopefully I'll be able to post a little more regularly next week.

  1. Have you ever done a post about what info you include in your clothing listings? I bought a bunch of NWT women's clothing items about a month ago and I have no idea what measurements potential buyers might be looking for. Also, I'd be interested to hear how you usually ship clothing. Since the items are NWT it seems like they should look nice upon arrival. I'm not sure if I should be boxing them or if I could get away with sending them in a polymailer.

    1. Kari, I will definitely do this! I haven't been selling clothing for very long, but I've already learned a lot. I'll share what I've learned so far.

    1. You know, I had this one on my list, and I just did a listing with a video in it the other day, and I completely forgot! I'll bump it back up on my list :)
