Hooray!

I guess eBay got tired of hearing me whine around, so they finally threw me a bone. I had 7 sales today! Finally! My favorite one was this Gap denim skirt that I just listed last night:

I'm tellin' ya ... pick up those denim skirts! This one sold for $21.99 + shipping in 15 hours.

I've been working on consignment sale stuff this evening. I always enter half of my stuff under my own name and the other half under my sister's name. That way she can get in for the pre-sale as a consignor, even though she only consigns my stuff. It works well. It's a fun evening for the two of us to go to the pre-sale. I'm excited about this one, because this is the first spring one I've done, so it'll be the first time most of this stuff has been out for consignment. I'm optimistic!  I got all my items (under both names) entered into their system, all tags printed, and almost finished tagging them (a month early!) when my tagging gun jammed. Ugh. That's what I get for buying the cheap junk instead of a decent one.

I sold more play food today - the baked goods this time.

So I've sold half of my lots so far, for a total of $34.96. I'm pretty far ahead of the game already, and I still have half of them to go!

I've developed an ear infection. I don't even have anything else to say about that. Blech.

This is a short & sweet entry tonight. The house is a wreck, I don't feel well. I'm out of here. But hooray for sales again!!

  3. Oh, I did! I called my ear doctor first thing yesterday morning. He called a prescription in for me and I'm on it! Just waiting desperately for it to kick in. I'm trying hard not to OD on pain pills in the meantime :-\

  4. I know that you post your sales goal every week but I was just wondering is there a percentage that you try to be at after all expenses? I haven't listed anything since Christmas because I think I want to open a store. I have been buying and have some inventory built up. I have 2 jobs so time is an issue but I would like to give one up and try to see how I could do with a store. I read your blog every day and it gives me motivation to think that I can do it.

    1. Nope, I don't have any magical formulas. I base my current week's goal on my previous couple of weeks' actual sales. I don't worry about percentages after expenses. I can't control eBay and Paypal fees. I CAN control my inventory expenses. The vast majority of inventory that I buy, I know I can resell at 5-10x what I paid for it, sometimes even more. I just try to keep inventory expenses as low as possible, because the rest is out of my hands.
