Wow. Last week was great. I almost hit $1,000 in sales! But I thought I would be conservative and aim for $900 instead. The week started out great. Monday and Tuesday I almost hit $200 a day. But the rest of the week ...
I had FIVE days in a row of $70 or less sales days! I know a lot of sellers would be thrilled to have that much, but that hasn't happened to me in several months! Sure, I get a bad sales day here or there, but for the most part, I hover around $100 a day.
But I'm trying not to let it get me down. I've been riding a really high sales wave the last few weeks. I've been actively listing this week, too, so I'm not sure what's happening. I think it's just my turn for a slow week. I'll wait a couple days and hopefully it'll pick back up again. At least I hope so! The beginning of a new month is fast approaching, which means payments for extra-curricular activities are due this week. I need some cash - and fast!

I had to do a couple refunds this week. Sigh. One buyer is returning my Michael Kors jeans because they don't fit. So that's $56.99 I'll have to refund. And I had yet another pair of Clarks break. She was NOT happy about it, but fortunately, she had already left positive feedback. Dodged a bullet there... I issued her refund immediately. That was another $32.45. Bah. I know returns and refunds are par for the course for eBay sellers, but it stings doubly bad when we have to refund during weeks when we've not been getting a lot in.

Remember the 4 long denim skirts I found this week? I really wanted to keep this one, but for some silly reason I listed it instead. I had decided if I still had it in May, it would become mine. Well, within just a couple days, I had 5 or 6 watchers, so I put that dream to rest. It sold today for $24.99. The buyer wrote me right away and said that she wanted to buy one of my other ones, and would I combine shipping? I wrote her back of course, and that she should go ahead and choose and pay for it, and I would refund her the excess shipping. I haven't heard from her yet. Hopefully she either buys it tonight or tomorrow, or she lets me know that she's NOT going to buy it, because I'd like to get this one out to her before I get anymore teardrops on it. :)

I had to order an emergency shoe care supplies shipment this week. A buyer and I had a bit of a miscommunication, and I ended up promising him a color I was out of. As soon as my order comes in (probably Tuesday, maybe Wednesday), I'll restock my eBay store, but I'll also be keeping one of each item out so that I can list them here on my blog under the Products and Services tab. I'm pretty excited to make those available here and skip the eBay fees!

I've been having so much fun with SparkPeople and SparkRecipes! I had a delicious spinach and tomato pasta salad tonight for dinner! It took me awhile to figure out the website, but I have finally figured out how to do a search for recipes, and then I can click on "Add To Meal Planner". Then it lets me choose what day and meal I want to schedule it for. It automatically counts and adds up my calories for me, based on the recipes that I've chosen. It's a pretty neat website, full of a gazillion really great-looking recipes!

Hope your sales have been doing well!

ReplyDeleteI did start out with sparkpeople but I use my fitness pal.com now. I don't normally look at the recipes(not even sure if they have them) but I love their calorie counter. You might want to check it out.
Hi Nancy - I apparently tried out fitness pal once before, because I already have a login for their site. I just really love the recipes and menu planner on spark people though! :)
ReplyDeleteI like that you will have your shoe care for sale on your blog! What a great idea. I have heard a little bit about people selling items on FaceBook to get away from the costs of ebay. Do you know anything about this? If so I would love if you would share. Thanks
ReplyDeleteSarah, I've heard of it and plan to give it a try, but i haven't had a chance to look into it yet. I'd like to to that in February. I'll blog about it as i go.
